Autonomous driving technology company Zoox is mapping streets in Dallas, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona, in preparation for testing its self-driving vehicles in these two cities. Zoox announced on Monday that it has dispatched a small number of Toyota Highlander SUVs to both cities, where staff will drive these vehicles to help its autonomous driving software familiarize itself with local road conditions. Subsequently, Zoox will test its self-driving system in these two cities using the SUVs and gradually transition to its specially developed self-driving taxis.
