In a recent research report, China Merchants Securities highlighted BYD's launch of its second-generation Blade Battery and accompanying flash charging technology, marking a significant leap in charging efficiency. Practical tests revealed that the BYD Seal 07 EV can recharge from 10% to 97% in a mere 8 minutes and 44 seconds. Consequently, China Merchants Securities has decided to uphold its 'Overweight' recommendation for BYD. The innovative battery is set to debut in 10 vehicle models, with the Denza Z9GT boasting an impressive driving range of 1,036 kilometers. Performance-wise, the new battery exhibits enhanced low-temperature charging capabilities and heightened safety standards.
In terms of supporting infrastructure, BYD has unveiled its 'Flash Charge China' initiative, aiming to construct around 20,000 flash charging stations by the end of 2026. To date, 4,239 stations have been successfully established, with plans to inaugurate the initial 1,000 highway flash charging stations ahead of May Day. China Merchants Securities anticipates that these technological strides will fortify BYD's competitive position, with the new battery technology and product cycle poised to elevate market expectations and foster a distinct competitive edge.
