Today, Xiaomi Technology's official Weibo account announced that Xiaomi's robot has embarked on an 'internship' at an automotive factory. The robot operated autonomously for three consecutive hours at the self-tapping nut installation station in the die-casting workshop, achieving a remarkable 90.2% success rate in simultaneous bilateral installation. Moreover, it met the production line's fastest cycle time requirement of 76 seconds. This achievement signifies the first stable step of Xiaomi's humanoid robot in the realm of intelligent manufacturing. The task involved the automated tightening of self-tapping nuts for one-piece die-cast rear floor parts of automobiles, a task with an extremely high installation difficulty. To tackle complex working conditions, Xiaomi employed an end-to-end data-driven control approach, complemented by reinforcement learning technology. It also integrated multimodal information for collaborative perception and comprehensive judgment, effectively minimizing the likelihood of state misjudgment, aligning with the precision and efficiency standards commonly expected in English-speaking industrial environments.
