Recently, spy shots have emerged showcasing what is believed to be Xiaomi’s first full-size SUV with an extended range, codenamed "Kunlun" and tentatively named the YU9. These images reveal the vehicle with less camouflage than before, providing clearer details. The design stays true to Xiaomi’s signature aesthetic, featuring its distinctive teardrop-shaped side mirrors and vertical taillights. It is also rumored to include a "split-opening" trunk. Investment partner at Shunwei Capital, Hu Zhengnan, and Xiaomi Group Vice President Zhang Jianhui have both shared teaser images, offering glimpses into the new car’s features. In terms of size, the YU9 is expected to measure over 5.2 meters in length and approximately 1.8 meters in height. According to a research report by Deutsche Bank, Xiaomi Auto is set to launch a large D-segment hybrid SUV in 2026. Furthermore, reports indicate that Xiaomi has plans to roll out four new models this year, including an updated version of the SU7, an executive edition of the SU7, and two extended-range SUVs (a five-seater and a seven-seater).
