On February 5, Changan Automobile and CATL co-hosted the "Changan Automobile Tianshu Intelligent New Safety Achievements Release and Global Sodium-Ion Battery Strategy Announcement" event in Yakeshi. At this significant gathering, Changan Automobile formally rolled out its global sodium-ion battery strategy and showcased the world's inaugural mass-produced sodium-ion battery-powered passenger car. Brands within the Changan Automobile umbrella, such as Avatr, Shenlan, Qiyuan, and Yingli, have outlined plans to integrate CATL's cutting-edge sodium-ion batteries into their future vehicle models. As per CATL's announcement, its sodium-ion cells boast a peak energy density of 175Wh/kg, enabling pure electric vehicles to achieve ranges of 500 to 600 km and extended-range hybrid vehicles to surpass 300 to 400 km in range.
