A Xiaomi spokesperson revealed that on February 1, a Xiaomi SU7 vehicle in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, began emitting smoke and subsequently caught fire at the driver's seat area. The local fire department swiftly responded and extinguished the blaze, ensuring no injuries were sustained. According to the accident report received by the vehicle owner, the fire was initiated by an external fire source left inside the vehicle, which then ignited nearby flammable materials. This incident was confirmed not to be related to any inherent issues with the vehicle itself. The 'fireworks' depicted in the online video were, in fact, the result of airbags detonating due to the combustion, and had no connection to the vehicle's battery. Xiaomi has pledged to support the customer in managing the aftermath of the incident.
