On January 29, Cui Dongshu from the China Passenger Car Association posted an article stating that according to the compulsory traffic insurance data from the National Financial Regulatory Administration, the domestic commercial vehicle market witnessed strong growth in 2025. Affected by the rapid development of new energy vehicles and policy-driven vehicle updates, the new energy commercial vehicle market showed a rapid upward trend throughout the year. From March to December, sales of new energy commercial vehicles remained at a high level and grew strongly. The commercial vehicle market saw significant growth at the end of the year, with domestic sales reaching 300,000 units in December, a year-on-year increase of 5% and a month-on-month increase of 15%. From January to December 2025, total domestic sales of commercial vehicles reached 3.1 million units, a year-on-year increase of 9%, marking a new high since 2022. After the policy-driven surge at the end of 2024, sales of new energy commercial vehicles were relatively weak in January 2025 but then saw substantial year-on-year growth. In December, sales of new energy commercial vehicles reached 140,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 71% and a month-on-month increase of 49%; cumulative sales from January to December reached 910,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 57%.
