According to data released on January 27, BYD achieved remarkable growth in the European automotive market in 2025, with new car registrations reaching 187,657 units—a staggering 268.6% increase compared to the previous year. The brand also experienced a notable 227.8% upswing in the EU market, elevating its market share from 0.4% to 1.2%. During the same period, the market share of pure electric vehicles in the EU climbed from 13.6% to 17.4%, while hybrid vehicles maintained their position as the most popular choice, accounting for 34.5% of the market. In contrast, the combined market share of gasoline and diesel vehicles declined from 45.2% to 35.5%. Significantly, in December, pure electric vehicles captured 22.6% of the EU market, narrowly surpassing gasoline vehicles, which held a 22.5% share, for the first time.
