On January 26, Germany's renowned business newspaper, "Handelsblatt," carried a report stating that Volkswagen's CEO, Oliver Blume, emphasized in an interview that Volkswagen would move forward with its plan to establish an Audi factory in the United States only if there were adjustments to the existing automotive tariff policy. He pointed out that continuing with the current tariff structure while undertaking substantial additional investments would not be economically feasible. Volkswagen is currently evaluating several potential sites for the new factory, including a parcel of land in South Carolina. Other states have also shown keen interest in hosting the facility. Blume mentioned that a final decision would be made once the prevailing conditions become clearer.
