On January 25, during the Fourth Session of the 16th Beijing Municipal People's Congress, it was announced that Beijing's new energy vehicle (NEV) population has surpassed 1.3 million. Notably, NEVs and vehicles complying with or surpassing the 'National V Emission Standard' now constitute over 80% of the city's total vehicle count. By 2025, Beijing is set to roll out policies aimed at encouraging the retirement and replacement of outdated trucks, as well as large and medium-sized passenger vehicles that adhere to or fall below the National IV emission standards. This initiative is projected to result in the retirement and transfer of over 10,000 such vehicles. In a parallel move, 500 new energy buses have already been registered, and all newly introduced and upgraded cruise taxis, light postal vehicles, and sanitation vehicles will exclusively utilize new energy power. Furthermore, Beijing has established 1,044 supercharging stations tailored for electric vehicles, accompanied by an additional 11,263 charging ports to cater to the growing demand.
