FAW Toyota Motor (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. Changchun Fengyue Branch, along with GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., has submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation. Commencing January 23, 2026, Changchun Fengyue Branch will initiate a recall of 10,922 RAV4 Rongfang vehicles manufactured between December 5, 2025, and January 13, 2026. Meanwhile, GAC Toyota will recall 5,056 Wildlander vehicles produced from December 11, 2025, to January 12, 2026. The root cause of this recall lies in incorrect settings within the vehicles' multimedia screen system control program. These improper configurations may lead to a black screen upon startup, which cannot be rectified, thereby impairing the defrosting and defogging capabilities. In severe scenarios, this could hinder the driver's visibility, presenting a significant safety risk. Both companies will provide a complimentary upgrade to the control program for the affected vehicles to rectify the issue and eliminate the potential hazard.
