On January 19 (local time), Germany's Federal Ministry for the Environment made a sudden announcement regarding the reinstatement of subsidies for electric vehicle (EV) purchases. These subsidies are specifically aimed at low- and middle-income households and have been expanded to include models fitted with range extenders within their scope. The subsidy amount for each vehicle varies, ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 euros. The government has earmarked a substantial budget of 3 billion euros for this initiative, which is anticipated to support the purchase of around 800,000 electric vehicles. The policy is set to remain in effect until 2029.
