Volvo has initiated a recall of its EX30 models across several countries, prompted by concerns over the potential for thermal runaway in the vehicles' power batteries. According to Volvo's internal quality monitoring system, the 69kWh battery packs installed in these models, which were purportedly supplied by Sunwoda, might exhibit design flaws. As a precautionary measure, Volvo has recommended that 10,440 EX30 owners in the UK restrict their charging to no more than 70% of the battery's capacity. In reaction to these claims, the chairman of Sunwoda has refuted the online reports, asserting that, following thorough verification, the battery packs in question were not sourced from their company. Furthermore, it's worth noting that towards the end of last year, VREMT filed a lawsuit against Sunwoda, citing quality issues with battery cells and seeking compensation amounting to RMB 2.313 billion.
