The Equipment Industry Development Center, operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), has recently published the "Notice on Adjustments to the Implementation of Standards and Product Access Requirements in the Announcement." This notice heralds the introduction of new regulations, which will come into effect starting from the 404th batch of the "Road Motor Vehicle Production Enterprises and Products Announcement" in 2026. As part of the product access application process, manufacturers of passenger vehicles will now be required to furnish comprehensive photos showcasing the layout and internal structure of the front cabin in the "Structural Drawings" section. Additionally, they must submit the "Product User Manual" as supplementary documentation.
The notice also brings about modifications to the implementation requirements for several automotive-related standards. These encompass regulations on external protrusions on passenger vehicles and commercial vehicle cabs, automotive windshield defrosting and demisting systems, braking systems for passenger vehicles, automotive steering systems, safety technical conditions for vehicles transporting hazardous goods, as well as standards pertaining to motorcycles and mopeds.
Furthermore, two new inspection items have been introduced: "Technical Requirements for Information Security of Complete Vehicles" and "General Technical Requirements for Software Upgrades of Vehicles." In light of these developments, relevant inspection agencies and enterprises are urged to make the necessary preparations and implement adjustments to ensure compliance with the updated standards.
