On November 24, the Hubei East Lake Laboratory marked a significant milestone. Leveraging a cutting-edge "permanent magnet electric floating guidance combined with electromagnetic propulsion" system, the laboratory propelled a 1.11-ton high-speed rail model vehicle to an astonishing peak speed of 800km/h within a mere 5.3 seconds. Moreover, the vehicle achieved an acceleration from zero to 100km/h in less than 0.7 seconds, setting a new global benchmark for platforms of its kind. The laboratory's advancements in pivotal technologies for high-speed maglev, coupled with the establishment of its test line, are anticipated to offer robust technical backing across multiple sectors. Furthermore, the Maglev Team at the National University of Defense Technology has recently achieved remarkable strides in maglev technology, successfully accelerating a ton-class heavy test vehicle to a speed of 700 kilometers per hour within two seconds, thus shattering the existing global record for platforms of a similar nature.
