On December 26, news emerged that the national standard titled 'Energy Consumption Limits for Electric Vehicles - Part 1: Passenger Cars' is slated for official enforcement starting January 1, 2026. This marks a groundbreaking moment as it represents the world's inaugural mandatory limit standard specifically tailored for electric vehicle energy consumption.

Once the new standard takes effect, automakers will be compelled to enhance the technological features of their upcoming vehicle models. To illustrate, consider a vehicle model weighing approximately 2 tons. According to the new standard, its energy consumption per 100 kilometers must not surpass 15.1 kWh. Following the technological enhancements, and assuming the battery capacity remains unchanged, electric vehicles can anticipate an average driving range increase of around 7%, coupled with a markedly improved driving experience.
