The Shenzhen Metro has initiated a pilot program featuring a smart guide dog named 'Xiaosuan' at the Huangmugang transportation hub. This innovative move offers a cutting-edge technological travel option tailored for visually impaired individuals.

'Xiaosuan' the smart guide dog is equipped with a range of advanced technologies. Visually impaired passengers can effortlessly activate a multitude of core functions by simply issuing verbal commands. This enables them to navigate independently to their desired service points within the hub.

At present, designated service points have been set up adjacent to the barrier-free vertical elevators located near exits 13 and 14 of the Huangmugang transportation hub. The equipment has undergone rigorous safety tests and on-site inspections to ensure its reliability and safety for use.

During the initial month of the trial period, dedicated staff members will be stationed at the service points to provide assistance and guarantee the safety of the passengers. Once the trials prove successful, the service will transition to an automated system and be gradually expanded to include certain stations across the metro network.
