On December 11, SK Innovation announced that its battery division, SK On, and Ford have decided to terminate the U.S. joint venture structure, with both parties independently holding and operating the BlueOval SK production facilities. According to the agreement, SK On will be responsible for operating the factory in Tennessee, U.S., while Ford will operate the Kentucky factory through its subsidiary. After the dissolution of the joint venture structure, SK On still plans to maintain a strategic partnership with Ford, using the Tennessee factory as its base.
