On November 27, Xu Changming, a senior economist from the National Information Center, shared his insights at the 2025 Auto Finance Industry Summit. He pointed out that currently, for every 100 self-owned brand vehicles, 84 are sold within the domestic market, while 16 are exported overseas. Xu projected that within the next five years, the proportion of overseas sales for self-owned brand vehicles would surge to 30%.

Drawing on data from the first ten months of the current year, Xu elaborated that in mature markets, only 10 out of every 100 electric vehicles sold overseas are from Chinese self-owned brands. However, in emerging markets, this figure soars to an impressive 55, indicating a significant market penetration and growing acceptance of Chinese automotive brands in these regions.
