On November 21, Li Auto made a significant announcement at the Guangzhou Auto Show, revealing its plans to launch the industry's inaugural defensive Automatic Emergency Steering (AES) system before the year concludes. This innovative addition is set to revolutionize active safety logic, transitioning from a focus on active collision avoidance to a more comprehensive strategy of defending against passive collisions. The system is designed to handle a variety of challenging driving scenarios, including sudden cut-offs reminiscent of American driving styles, unexpected merges by slow-moving vehicles, and malicious lane changes. By accelerating or changing lanes, the AES system can effectively avert rear-end collisions.
Li Auto's AES stands out as a fully automated emergency steering solution, eliminating the need for driver intervention in steering during emergencies. It is engineered to react swiftly in extreme situations, automatically executing evasive actions to ensure safety. Prior to this announcement, Li Auto had already rolled out this cutting-edge feature to all AD Max users through OTA 6.1, showcasing its commitment to continuous innovation and customer safety.
