Data sourced from an automotive complaint platform reveals that numerous Mercedes-Benz EQC owners have lodged collective grievances. They claim that their vehicles have encountered limitations in battery capacity and a subsequent reduction in driving range following a recall. One owner of a 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQC 350 4MATIC reported that after undergoing a battery management system upgrade at a 4S dealership on October 26, the vehicle's driving range plummeted from 415 kilometers to just 270 kilometers. This owner also highlighted the absence of any prior notification regarding the range reduction, asserting that the 4S dealership infringed upon their right to be informed and their right to make an informed choice. Another owner underscored that during the recall and update process of the Mercedes-Benz EQC, which was necessitated by hardware design flaws, the fundamental repercussions were not candidly disclosed. Furthermore, the owner contended that the enforced limitation on battery capacity encroached upon the rights of the vehicle owners. At present, Beijing Mercedes-Benz has not issued any response concerning this issue.
