Despite Waymo's stronghold in the U.S. market, Chinese self-driving taxi firms have showcased greater competitiveness in their global expansion endeavors. Presently, Chinese companies like Baidu, Pony.ai, and WeRide are conducting autonomous vehicle trials in several countries. In contrast, Waymo has only carried out tests in Japan and has plans to venture into the London market. Chinese self-driving taxi companies are capitalizing on efficient local electric vehicle manufacturing facilities to produce cost-effective vehicles. Moreover, they are incorporating premium features to elevate the passenger experience.
