At a user event, NIO's founder, Li Bin, unveiled the upcoming strategy for the Firefly model. He announced that a variant equipped with a larger battery pack will be introduced, boasting a capacity hike of no less than 50% compared to the current iteration. This new version will seamlessly integrate with NIO's fifth-generation battery swap stations. However, it won't be compatible with the CATL Chocolate battery swap system, owing to divergent technological approaches.
Positioned as a premium compact vehicle, the Firefly model offers several notable benefits. It features an impressively small minimum turning radius of just 4.7 meters and a spacious front trunk with a maximum capacity of 92 liters. The car is designed with a rear-wheel-drive, single-motor setup, delivering a power output of 105 kilowatts and a driving range of 420 kilometers. Additionally, it supports both rapid and slow charging options, along with vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, enhancing its versatility and user convenience.
