On November 10, WeRide, a company specializing in autonomous driving technology, made an official announcement stating that it had secured approval from the UAE Federal Government. This approval paves the way for WeRide to initiate fully autonomous Robotaxi commercial operations in Abu Dhabi. Notably, this achievement marks the acquisition of the world's inaugural city-level L4 autonomous driving commercial license outside the United States. Based on the license authorization approved on October 31, WeRide is empowered to carry out commercial operations without the need for onboard safety operators. Initially, these services will be rolled out in Abu Dhabi via the Uber and TXAI platforms, heralding a new era in autonomous transportation.
