On November 4, multiple media outlets reported that in preparation for the mass production of L4-level vehicle models in the second half of 2026, XPENG Motors relaunched its Robotaxi project at the end of October. The company is simultaneously promoting internal job transfers and recruiting L4-level experts with high salaries. The project adopts a lightweight model, conducting trial operations based on in-development vehicle models. The size of the first batch of test fleets is controlled within three digits, with priority given to verifying data closure in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen demonstration zone.
