On October 31, Li Xuan, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of WeRide, shared a lengthy post in an analyst group. In this post, she accused Pony.ai of making four false claims regarding data in its roadshow materials for the Hong Kong market. These claims included misrepresentations about operational areas, operational data, technical capabilities, and global layout.
Li Xuan highlighted that WeRide has already launched fully driverless Robotaxi services in Beijing and Guangzhou. The company boasts a fleet of over 700 Robotaxis, with an impressive track record of over 2,200 days of continuous operation. Furthermore, WeRide has successfully achieved commercial operations in multiple locations.
She also raised doubts about Pony.ai's assertion of having accomplished L4 fully one-stage end-to-end technology without engaging in any large-scale L2+ projects. Li Xuan underscored WeRide's extensive global presence, noting that the company operates in 30 cities across 11 countries. It has secured licenses in 7 of these countries, with fully driverless operations being feasible in 5 of them.
Li Xuan expressed her belief that Pony.ai's actions have gone beyond the bounds of normal competition. She called for an immediate correction of the false information and stated that WeRide reserves the right to take legal action if necessary.
