The National Development and Reform Commission, in collaboration with other relevant departments, has unveiled the Action Plan for Accelerating Smart City Development and Facilitating Comprehensive Digital Transformation. This plan outlines a strategic vision to expedite the digital enhancement and modernization of urban infrastructure. It emphasizes the systematic implementation of ubiquitous urban sensing initiatives, advocating for the uniform planning and deployment of intelligent sensing terminals in critical zones prone to risks, such as areas susceptible to pipeline leaks, roadway inclines, and geological hazard hotspots.
Leveraging cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, the plan aims to intensify the development of urban lifeline safety systems. It encourages the digitalization and intelligent management of essential urban infrastructure components, including gas, water supply, and drainage networks, while also prioritizing the identification and rectification of potential hazards leading to urban road collapses.
Furthermore, the plan underscores the importance of establishing robust mechanisms to ensure the concurrent planning and construction of digital infrastructure alongside traditional municipal infrastructure. It supports regions with favorable conditions to proactively advance the deployment of low-altitude data infrastructure, facilitating applications in urban inspections, logistics distribution, and other pertinent scenarios. Additionally, it promotes the development of intelligent roadside infrastructure and cloud-based control platforms, thereby enhancing the synergy between vehicles and roadways.
