Cao Li, the Senior Vice President of Leapmotor Technology, recently addressed and clarified the misconstrued statement, "Leapmotor asserts it is charting a different course from Huawei and has no plans for collaboration." Cao Li explained that, during the D19 exchange meeting, he had shared the company's technological vision and underscored the commitment to comprehensive, independent research and development of core technologies. However, his remarks were subsequently misrepresented by certain media outlets that were not in attendance at the meeting.

Cao Li firmly denied ever making or implying such a statement, noting that nearly 60 media representatives present at the event could corroborate his actual words. He further stressed that embracing an independent R&D approach does not preclude partnerships with other exceptional companies. In fact, he expressed admiration for Huawei, considering it a commendable model deserving of respect and emulation.
