On October 23, AutoNavi, a subsidiary under the Alibaba Group, declared the successful completion of an upgrade to its 'Hawk Eye Guard' early warning system. Originally, this system was mainly triggered in navigation mode, which required setting distinct starting and ending points. Nevertheless, AutoNavi found that a considerable portion of commuters and users well-acquainted with their routes tended to simply launch the App without specifying start and end locations, choosing cruise mode instead.

Following the upgrade, all users need to do is turn on the automatic cruise feature. AutoNavi can then smartly ascertain the driving status, automatically switching to cruise mode and activating the 'Hawk Eye Guard' system. To ensure an extra layer of safety, AutoNavi advises users to activate broadcast alerts while in cruise mode.
