On October 7, reporters found during on-site investigations that, in comparison to previous National Day holidays, automakers have scaled down the scale and reach of their price reductions and promotional offers this year. Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, pointed out that factors including the tightening of the "anti-self-destructive-competition" (anti-inner-roll) policy and the rebound in raw material costs, such as lithium carbonate, have further constrained automakers' ability to wage "price wars." Lang Xuehong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Automobile Dealers Association, noted that despite the discontinuation of car trade-in subsidies in certain areas, the Double Festival holiday (National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival) generated a notable influx of customers, with a concentrated surge in car-buying demand during the travel period. This, combined with end-of-year promotional campaigns by dealers, is expected to spur a moderate uptick in monthly sales. Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, 44.4% of dealers express optimism about the auto market, forecasting a 5% to 10% year-on-year sales increase.
