Back in 2016, Musk boldly asserted that Tesla would pull off a fully autonomous drive from Los Angeles all the way to New York by the close of 2017. He even had plans to showcase it live or in an uncut format, aiming to prove that the vehicle could operate with complete autonomy throughout the entire journey. Alas, this ambitious goal remained unfulfilled. Since that time, Musk has made multiple adjustments to the projected timeline. Yet, as we step into 2025, Tesla's autonomous driving technology still necessitates driver supervision and has not reached the stage of full self-driving capability.
