At the 2025 World New Energy Vehicle Congress, Xiang Chen, the Director of Power Trading at NIO, disclosed that NIO has achieved remarkable strides in deploying its energy replenishment network for highway scenarios. In some regions, power recharging has now become even more convenient than traditional fuel refueling.

As of September 2025, the total number of battery swap stations operated by NIO across the nation has surged to 3,482, marking an increase of over 800 new stations. Among these, the count of highway battery swap stations has soared past 1,001, spanning 31 provincial administrative regions and 550 cities. This feat has established NIO as the operator of the world's largest highway battery swap system, achieving comprehensive coverage of major highway routes.

The energy replenishment efficiency of NIO's third-generation battery swap stations has witnessed a substantial boost, with battery swaps being completed in a mere 2 minutes and 24 seconds. In July 2025, the cumulative number of battery swap services provided by NIO reached 80 million, with an average daily service volume of 97,000 times.

Currently, NIO is actively expanding its battery swap model to international markets. The company has set an ambitious goal of having over 4,000 battery swap stations globally by the end of 2025, with approximately 1,000 of these stations to be situated overseas. Europe and Southeast Asia have been identified as the initial destinations for this global expansion.
