On September 25, data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association revealed that in August, new car registrations across the European Union experienced a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, totaling 677,786 units. Notably, Tesla witnessed a significant decline, with its new car registrations plummeting by nearly 37%. In stark contrast, BYD's new car registrations skyrocketed by 201%, propelling its market share to 1.3%. This marked the second consecutive month that BYD outpaced Tesla, which held a 1.2% market share.
