On September 22, 2025, Nissan revealed a strategic partnership with UK-based startup Wayve Technologies. The collaboration aims to introduce a next-generation iteration of Nissan's ProPilot driver-assistance system by 2028, positioning it as a formidable rival to Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. This cutting-edge system will, for the first time, enable high-level assisted driving in complex urban environments. Leveraging a minimalist camera setup, it will adeptly recognize traffic signals, intersections, pedestrians, and other critical elements, facilitating seamless operations such as adaptive following, intelligent lane changes, and obstacle avoidance.

Additionally, Nissan has outlined plans to launch an autonomous ride-sharing service in 2027, marking a significant step towards the future of mobility. Alongside this, the company will initiate a Robotaxi pilot project, further solidifying its commitment to pioneering advancements in autonomous transportation.
