On September 20, reports surfaced indicating that Li Auto has entered into a 50:50 capital-sharing joint venture with battery producer Sunwoda. This collaboration has been duly registered and made public by the Shanghai Market Supervision and Administration Bureau. The joint venture partners consist of Beijing Li Auto Co., Ltd. and Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery Co., Ltd. The newly formed entity will concentrate on the production, fabrication, and distribution of lithium-ion power batteries tailored for electric vehicles. Officially registered as Shandong Li Auto Battery Co., Ltd., the joint venture will manufacture Li Auto's proprietary power battery solutions. Anticipation is high for the integration of these self-developed batteries into vehicles next year.
