Li Auto and Sunwoda are set to create a joint venture, with each party contributing capital at a 50:50 ratio. This development has been officially registered and made public by the Shanghai Market Supervision and Administration Bureau. The newly formed entity, dubbed Shandong Li Auto Battery Co., Ltd., will take charge of manufacturing Li Auto's proprietary power battery products. These batteries are anticipated to enter the market next year.

Li Auto already enjoys a collaborative development partnership with CATL. However, the batteries co-developed with Sunwoda are classified as Li Auto's self-developed offerings. Presently, Li Auto's battery research and development (R&D) team comprises over 200 dedicated members. President Ma Donghui closely monitors the advancements of the self-developed battery initiative.

Li Auto is channeling all its efforts into the R&D of 5C ultra-fast charging batteries, demonstrating a resolute and extensive commitment. Following the establishment of the joint venture with Sunwoda, it would be more fitting to refer to Li Auto's self-developed batteries as 'Li Batteries'.
