On September 18, reports emerged that the China Charging Union had unveiled the operational statistics concerning the national electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery-swapping infrastructure for August 2025. The data reveals that between January and August, a total of 4.53 million charging infrastructure units were newly installed, signifying an 88.5% year-on-year hike. Specifically, 737,000 public charging facilities were added during this period, reflecting a 37.2% increase. Meanwhile, 3.793 million private charging facilities were installed, showcasing a remarkable 103.3% year-on-year growth. As of the end of August 2025, the cumulative number of EV charging infrastructure units across the country had soared to 17.348 million, representing a 53.5% year-on-year upsurge.
