On September 18th, data released by the China Automobile Dealers Association revealed that during the first half of September, the number of customers visiting car dealerships saw a 1.2% uptick compared to the same period in August, yet experienced an 8.8% decline from the second half of August. Order volumes increased by 2.0% relative to the same timeframe in August but dropped by 16.6% compared to the latter half of August. Sales figures rose by 5.5% over the corresponding period in August, while registering a 24.2% decrease from the second half of August. Inventory levels experienced a slight 0.7% reduction from the end of August.
As the traditional peak consumption season of "Golden September and Silver October" unfolds, a series of large-scale autumn auto shows are kicking off nationwide, prompting dealers to ramp up their promotional campaigns. Coupled with the combined impact of the "Mid-Autumn Festival + National Day" holiday period, consumer demand for purchasing vehicles is anticipated to surge, fueling a continuous upward trend in terminal sales volumes throughout September.
Taking into account the sales data from August and the first half of September, it is projected that the terminal sales volume of passenger cars for the entire month of September will reach 2.2 million units.
