Cui Dongshu, who serves as the Secretary-General of the Passenger Car Association, shared in an article that in August 2025, the automotive industry witnessed a total production volume of 2.75 million vehicles, reflecting an 11% increase compared to the same period last year. Breaking down the figures, new energy vehicle (NEV) production soared to 1.33 million units, representing a robust 23% year-on-year growth and accounting for a 48% market share. Meanwhile, the production of fuel-powered vehicles reached 1.42 million units, experiencing a modest 1% increase year-on-year. Looking at the cumulative data from January to August 2025, the overall vehicle production stood at 20.83 million units, up by 11% year-on-year. Specifically, NEV production amounted to 9.38 million units, surging by 31% year-on-year and securing a 45% market share. In contrast, the production of fuel vehicles during this period was 11.45 million units, showing a slight 2% decline year-on-year.
