On September 15, 2025, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) rolled out the Initiative on Standardizing Accounts Payable Payment Practices by Vehicle Manufacturers Towards Suppliers. This initiative sets forth clear guidelines across key operational areas, including order placement, delivery, acceptance, and payment processes. It underscores the importance of safeguarding suppliers' interests and fostering a collaborative, mutually beneficial ecosystem within the automotive supply chain.

In a show of solidarity, 17 leading automotive companies—FAW, Dongfeng Motor, Changan Automobile, SAIC Motor, BAIC Group, GAC Group, JAC Motors, Seres, Chery Automobile, Geely Holding, Great Wall Motor, BYD, Li Auto, NIO, Leapmotor, XPENG, and Xiaomi Automobile—have publicly committed to actively implementing the initiative. Their collective action aims to drive the high-quality development of China's automotive industry, setting a precedent for responsible business practices and supplier relations.
