At a press conference organized by the Information Office of the State Council, Fu Linghui, the spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, revealed that in August 2025, amidst the robust development of artificial intelligence and the swift advancement of digital empowerment, significant growth was observed across several key sectors. Specifically, the added value of intelligent vehicle equipment manufacturing and electronic components and equipment manufacturing surged by 17.7% and 13.1%, respectively. Notably, the integrated circuit manufacturing sector experienced an even more impressive 23.5% increase in added value, signaling a positive trend in industrial upgrading.
Furthermore, in August, the equipment manufacturing industry and the high-tech manufacturing industry witnessed year-on-year growth rates of 8.1% and 9.3%, respectively. These rates outpaced the growth of industries above the designated size, underscoring the dynamic performance of these sectors. The modern service industry also displayed a promising growth trajectory, with the production indices of the information transmission software and information technology service industry, as well as the leasing and business service industry, climbing by 12.1% and 7.4%, respectively.
The nation's commitment to green transformation remains unwavering, as evidenced by the 22.7% and 44.2% increases in the output of new energy vehicles and lithium-ion power batteries for vehicles, respectively. Additionally, from January to August, China's import and export volume with countries participating in the joint construction of the 'Belt and Road' initiative rose by 5.4%, outpacing the overall growth rate of imports and exports.
