On September 13, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Volvo Cars is set to recall 1,355 units of specific 2026 - model vehicles. These models include the XC90 MHEV, XC60 MHEV, V90CC MHEV, and V60CC MHEV. The root cause of this recall lies in a potential production - related issue. During the manufacturing process, there's a chance that the torsion bar within the front seat belt retractors could have sustained damage. This damage presents a significant safety hazard.

In light of this situation, Volvo dealers will take prompt action. They will replace both front seat belt retractors of the recalled vehicles at no cost to the owners.
