The specifics of the "AITO M9 Spy Photo Controversy" case have now come to light. On July 11, 2023, a video pertaining to the AITO M9 emerged online, having been filmed within the premises of the Seres factory. The individual who posted the video, Chen, exploited an employee health check as an opportunity to sneak into the factory through a temporarily opened fence in order to take photos. Despite deleting the content immediately after being caught, he subsequently retrieved it from the recycling bin, compiled a video, and uploaded it, thereby leaking the car's interior design. Seres took legal action against him, demanding that he cease the infringement and pay compensation for the damages incurred. Meanwhile, Chen contended that his actions did not amount to infringement. The court, however, determined that the interior design in question constituted a trade secret and that Chen's conduct was inappropriate. On January 13 of this year, the court ruled in favor of Seres, finding Chen guilty of infringement and ordering him to pay over 250,000 yuan in damages.
