On September 12, the world witnessed a groundbreaking moment as 'Yuanchun 001', the first-ever methanol-hydrogen electric hybrid vessel designed for both power distribution and general use, was triumphantly launched in Hangzhou. This milestone event signifies the official leap of methanol-hydrogen electric technology from terrestrial to marine applications.

'Yuanchun 001' is outfitted with Geely's proprietary methanol-hydrogen electric system, ensuring zero emissions throughout its entire lifecycle—from the utilization of green methanol energy to its application in marine settings. Looking ahead, Geely has ambitious plans for the fourth quarter of this year, aiming to roll out a mass-produced model that incorporates the cutting-edge Thunder methanol-hydrogen EF technology. This innovative model boasts a globally unique flexible fuel system, allowing it to operate seamlessly on methanol, gasoline, or electricity. Remarkably, both gasoline and methanol can be refilled through a single port and mixed in any proportion within the same fuel tank. Moreover, this model is equipped with the world's first ultra-low temperature cold start technology, enabling the vessel to utilize methanol fuel even at temperatures as frigid as -40 degrees Celsius.
