On September 7, reports emerged claiming that Xiaomi YU7 would be delivering what were referred to as "test vehicles" to users. In reaction to these reports, Li Xiaoshuang, the Vice President of Xiaomi Auto, took to Weibo to clarify the situation. He explained that, in a bid to uphold product quality, Xiaomi adopts a practice of randomly selecting vehicles fresh off the production line for static evaluations. These selected vehicles are clearly marked with static stickers, which serve as an easy-to-spot indicator for inspectors.
Once a vehicle successfully clears the evaluation process, the static stickers are promptly removed, and the vehicle moves on to the subsequent production stage. It's worth noting that any residual marks left by the static stickers can be effortlessly wiped away with a damp towel. Xiaomi extended its apologies for any inconvenience this might have caused to vehicle owners. Moreover, the company has taken steps to enhance the design of the static stickers, aiming to avert similar issues from arising in future randomly inspected vehicles.
