VinFast Launches Its Electric Vehicles in India for the First Time, Priced Lower Than Tesla

On September 6, 2025, Vietnamese automaker VinFast launched its first batch of electric vehicles in India, competing with brands such as Tesla. Among them, the compact SUV VF6 starts at 1.6 million rupees (approximately $18,127), while the mid-size SUV VF7 starts at around 2 million rupees (approximately $22,659), which is roughly one-third of the price of Tesla's Model Y in India. VinFast stated that this price represents a launch offer, limited to the first 1,500 units sold or until November 30, whichever comes first.
