On August 27, Haier Group announced the completion of a strategic investment in AutoHome by its subsidiary, Kataichi Holding. The total transaction amounted to approximately $1.8 billion, resulting in the acquisition of a 43% stake and making Kataichi Holding the controlling shareholder of AutoHome. Concurrently, the board of directors underwent a restructuring process.
Liu Chi, a distinguished member of the Haier Group Board of Directors and the leader of Kataichi's automotive industry division, has been appointed as the Chairman, Director, and Chief Executive Officer of AutoHome's board of directors.
