On September 1, data released by the Norwegian Road Federation (OFV) revealed that Tesla captured nearly 22% of new car sales in Norway during August, while Volkswagen secured approximately 13%. Notably, BYD's registration volume surged more than threefold compared to the previous month, contrasting with the significant decline in Toyota and Volvo sales compared to the same period last year. Norway's electric vehicle market boasts an exceptionally high penetration rate, which has attracted a multitude of major automakers, with nearly 170 electric vehicle models currently available. Solberg Tolsen, Director of OFV, emphasized that while traditional brands have historically been dominant in Norway, the market landscape is evolving, and upcoming trends warrant close attention.
