On Thursday, a federal judge in California ruled that Nvidia must stand trial following an incident where an engineer, during a video conference, inadvertently disclosed alleged trade secrets related to autonomous driving technology, claimed to have been stolen from his previous employer. The judge deemed there to be sufficient "circumstantial" evidence indicating that the Silicon Valley AI giant had benefited from confidential data belonging to Valeo, a European automotive technology firm, thus sending the case to a jury for deliberation. In response, Nvidia refuted the allegations, asserting that it did not utilize the stolen data in the development of its parking assistance technology. Nonetheless, District Judge Noel Wise denied Nvidia's motion to dismiss Valeo's lawsuit on Thursday.
