On August 20, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, disclosed that the company's revenue from smart electric vehicles and AI innovation businesses soared to 21.3 billion yuan in the second quarter, marking a year-on-year increase of 234%. Notably, operating losses have narrowed to 300 million yuan. Xiaomi anticipates achieving profitability in the latter half of this year. Despite cumulative investments in this sector exceeding 30 billion yuan from 2022 to the first half of 2025, leading to significant cumulative losses, Lu Weibing emphasized that Xiaomi will refrain from engaging in price wars and that the health of its automotive business now ranks among the top in the industry. Furthermore, Xiaomi's ambition to expand its automotive business overseas by 2027 remains steadfast, with the company currently engaged in preliminary research and preparatory efforts.
